Humans are interesting species. We care for others in numerous ways, but often don't show the same tenderness and kindness towards ourselves. Be it through our actions or thoughts, we often expect ourselves to be perfect and incapable of error. The negative pressure that we put on ourselves can spill over into other areas of life such as work, relationships with family and friends, and confidence and a feeling of wholeness.
Here's a friendly solution. What if we started trying to be kind to ourselves internally with self-compassion and externally with self-care? To practice one day at a time, to make the conscious decision to challenge our negative thoughts and behaviors.
To help spread the word, I have created "Be Kind to Yourself" cards as both an encouragement and a reminder. It is my goal to share them with as many people as possible.
